Press the input button on the display and ensure the correct source is selected. Loose HDMI or DisplayPort cables are a frequent cause of black screens.

Step 3: Confirm Device Boot

If the device is registered in ELOView, trigger a remote restart. Check the dashboard for heartbeat and network status. Offline devices may appear black simply because they lost network connection rather than failed.
Step 8: Escalate Only After Local Tests
Document serial number, power status, cables tested, and what you observed. When support receives that data, troubleshooting accelerates and avoids unnecessary RMAs.

Reboot weekly, clean vents, and verify cable strain relief. Schedule visual checks once per shift in high-traffic locations. Most blank screen incidents are preventable through these habits.
